The Indiana Academy of Science is a non-profit professional organization dedicated to promoting scientific research, encouraging communication and cooperation among scientists, diffusing scientific information , and improving education in the sciences. The Academy has been an important voice of Indiana science since its inception in 1885. It continues to enjoy a high professional stature with a membership that includes many of Indiana's premier scientists from industry and academia, science educators, and science graduate and undergraduate students. The Indiana Academy of Science is one of the oldest scientific organizations in the United States, and holds a significant presence in the Indiana community and the Midwest.
